Back from Schomberg

Back from Schomberg Street Gallery and it was a lovely show. A lot of wonderful artists and a pretty fair turn out of people. Although it was kinda overcast (sunbeams would have been better) Mother Nature did allow us to stay dry and it didn't rain!

Met some interesting people and other artists, and stopped by to say "hi" to a few I've shown with before: Linda Shantz, Darlene Winfield and Robert Mcaffee.  Also met and chatted with my "booth neighbour," Robert Magee and found out that we are neighbours...literally! He is a fellow Burlingtonian!

Fingers crossed,  I will be able to return next year; Hope to see you then :-)

P.S. I do have a few ornaments left from the show and I will be posting them in the coming week...if anyone is interested in some early Christmas shopping!

New CKC CHAMPION Brighthope Power Point!

We have 2 beautiful Blue Picardy Spaniels that make up part of our family. The "Baby" (now 3.5yrs old) is Dax and this weekend he finished up his Canadian Championship at the Kilbride Kennel Club Show in Milton!
We don't show very much but have a good time when we do, alongside breeder Vicki Duncan and crew. Dax picked up his final 2 points on Saturday but lost Best of Breed to his Daddy, Ciron, who was in the ring for his final appearence at the age of 9. On Sunday Dax totally surprised his handler (me!) and and took Best of Breed over the handsome Dapper ... we didn't do anything in group, but we were one tired dog and handler combination ;-)
P.S. Don't know why my eyes are shut...probably praying LOL!

Dax asking "Did I do good, did I? Huh, did I?"

Polo For Heart 2014

Me being very silly :-P
Back from Polo for Heart and and tired! What a weekend :-)

I cant say enough about this beautiful event; top notch grounds and polo playing, smoothly run event, juicy and tasty burgers from the Lions Foundation and a happy Mother Nature who provided us with a gorgeous, sunny weekend!

Kudos and Thanks yous go out to Darlene Winfield for all her hard and efficient work in organizing the Art Walk and for letting me be a part of it (I hope to be back next year!)
Our space was light and airy with plenty of room for displays and spectators  alike. My fellow artists were friendly and helpful and together had a nice variety of work to present to the public. Please check out their sites!

Truckin' right along....

Getting work ready and a commission ongoing...here's a little update on a draft horse pencil piece that will be available at
Polo for Heart in Toronto, ON next weekend.

Remember this One...?

Remember this one? Finished it!

Pencil is just as demanding as colour, if not more...sure made the brain work in assessing values and textures to create mass and form. And I'm still not sure about the back leg. It had a hit of sunshine on it, but may be a little too floaty right now...

Other than that, this piece needs a name and I am completely blank...suggestions anyone :-) ?

Busy, Busy Busy....

Here is a little peek at something new on the drawing board...I have been juggling artwork between getting a few new pieces finished for Polo for Heart and some commissions....just not enough hours in the day! Will try to post again soon, with some finished work, and the final canine pencil piece I posted a few months ago :-)

2014 Polo for Heart Artist Walk

Very excited to announce that I will be part of the Artists Walk at this year's Polo for Heart Event...and have been very busy creating new pieces to display. I will try to give some 'sneek peeks' once they're done.

The event is in its 35th year and benefits the Heart and Stroke Association. It is a wonderful event with fabulous polo! If you attend, make sure you check us out at the Art Walk under the tents! Tickets for general admission can be purchased through the Polo for Heart website
Oh, and although the dress is casually elegant, I don't think I will be as dashing as the lovely ladies shown above!

Pencil Scribbles

Busy and cold month!

I did manage to get some time at the drawing board and have started on a pencil piece. There are so many great pencil artists out there to draw (pardon the pun) inspiration from, I wanted to give it a go...here it is so far.

Sorry about the vacant eyes-they won"t stay like that!
